Dog's Day of Summer at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Let your dog run off leash among the grapevines, play in sprinklers and doggie pools, and relax in the doggie lounge

11:00 am: Snoopy Says! In this fast-paced, canine version of Simon Says, handlers and dogs must follow instructions – but only if Snoopy says so!

11:30 am: You Can Dress ’Em Up! Handlers and dogs race to a box of clothing, where dogs must be dressed in a t-shirt, a scarf and two socks. The teams then race back to the starting line where the 5 fastest will compete against each other for the next round. This action repeats until a winning team is found.

12:00 pm: Wine Tasting and Silent Auction begin!

12:00 - 5:00 pm: Humane Domain demonstrations and "Ask the Trainer" sessions.

12:15 pm: Temptation Tower! In one minute, you must stack as many biscuits as you can into a tower of dog treats--in front of your dog! If your dog eats any of the biscuits, your team is disqualified from the game. If your tower falls down, you can rebuild until time runs out. The winner is the dog and handler team with the most number of biscuits in their tower! (Prize awarded)

12:45 pm: Musical Hoops! This is musical chairs for dogs! While the music plays, handlers heel their dogs around a row of hula hoops. When the music stops, handlers tell their dogs to “sit” (or “down”) so that at least two of their paws are in a hoop. Any dogs without two paws in a hoop are excused. One hoop is then removed and the game continues until only three dogs remain. The last three dogs receive prizes.

1:00 pm: Tail-Wagging Contest! In this competition, dog and handler line up with their dogs’ tails facing the audience. The handler tries to get his dogs’ tail to wag the best by only saying the name of fruits and vegetables. The team with the best tail-waggers advances to a wag-off to determine the wagging champion. (Prize awarded)

1:45 pm: Longest Tail Contest (Prize awarded)

2:00 pm: Biggest Dog Contest (Prize awarded)

2:00 - 5:00 pm: Tiki's Playhouse Doggie Ice Cream Truck will be selling delicious frozen treats to all four-legged customers!

2:00 - 5:00 pm: Live music on patio: Singer/songwriter Shane Gamble

2:15 pm: Smallest Dog Contest (Prize awarded)

2:30 pm: Best Singing Dog Contest (Prize awarded)

2:45 pm: Owner/Dog Look-a-Like Contest (Prize awarded)

3:00 pm: Close of Silent Auction

3:00 pm: Oldest Dog Contest (RORR gift basket awarded)

3:15 pm: Hound with the Best Bay Contest (RORR gift basket awarded)

3:30 pm: Blackest Dog contest (RORR gift basket awarded)

3:30 - 4:30 pm: Silent Auction Item Pick-Up

5:00 pm: Certificate of Appreciation presented to SMV
