Drake is a real good ole boy, down country and all that. He has a nose that could find a jellybean on a 10 acre plot, but his very best characteristic is that he as sweet as the day is long. A bit shy, until he gets to know you, but then, oh my, you will have his whole heart. Since he has that "nose thing" going, we will require him to go to a home with a physical fence in order to keep said nose in check and Drake safe. Wait until you see him lope along, those big ears flapping like propellers in the breeze, his sturdy legs covering the groundat a good rate. Did you notice his low weight? And the vet's guesstimate of what he really should weigh? It seems where he lived before nobody cared about him , so they didn't feed him. He really needs to put on about 10 to 15 lbs. and we are doing our best to feed him good food and plenty of it. Drake is appreciative of food in his bowl. In fact, he's thankful for nearly everything we do for him. He's not used to being loved, you see. And he is full of love, just waiting to find someone who will love him back and make him feel safe. A great, loyal dog is what he is going to be. Will you tell him he is a good bnoy? Will you bring treats? He will be all yours at the first biscuit!
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: If any of the applicants is looking for a great, fun, family dog Drake is a real doll. He is not a large dog - more like med to large - and is really sweet. He loves to play and although he isn't the best at returning balls, but he sometimes does, he loved to play fetch. He is also very fast and will run and run. He is a bit thin but he actually looks pretty good. So far, he has come when he is called and has done so in a flash. He seems to love people. Not sure how he is with other critters. He did fine when out with one of the other dogs but the other dog was getting a little too rough but Drake was perfect. He has not gone in his run, so I would say that he is housebroken. If anyone has an applicant that wants a dog to play and play and perhaps run with too, Drake may make a perfect companion. He does also does not appear to be a big barker, he just wants a playmate.
