Martha needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Martha is never one of those dogs who likes to be out there and in your face. She is such a sweet, shy girl, always wanting to get along with everyone, both people and other dogs. She is a solid, sturdy girl, but on the smaller side of medium at only 47 lbs. Can you see her playing happily in your backyard? Imagine her trotting along next ot you on a walk, looking up at you every little bit to let you know how wonderful it is to be at your side. She likes to be reassured that all is well.
Her foster really loves her and says..."Martha is a quietly happy dog, interspersed with moments of playful exuberance. She loves playing with other dogs but if none are available she’ll just as well toss a squeaky toy or ball for herself. Even better, of course, if you toss it. After just a few minutes of that, she’ll happily settle herself down next to you to see what else the day might bring. She likes to be near her humans and is affectionate but not needy. Her favorite way of being out and about are walks where she gets to sniff things. But she’s also a great running buddy! She’s met cats and has done well with them. When meeting new people she’s a bit on the shy side initially but willing to trust and warms up quickly. And when she sees her special people, her tail won’t just wag – it goes in circles like a little propeller that might just about lift her butt into the air!
