Melo needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Melo is a calmer, sweet and very loving dog. When he is happy, which is nearly all the time, his boxer stub of a tail wags away with the simple joy of being with you. When he is really delighted, his whole back end will wag! It's adorable and always makes us smile. His foster says of him "Melo is a quiet boy who seems to have good manners. He has been good with other dogs and happily wags his nub tail when meeting them." At only 3 years old, he is still a young dog and will be an ideal addition to your family. He is all ready for backyard play, nice walks, and happy days. A friendly, outgoing dog, he will be a good family dog. He is completely vetted and has all his shots. He would love to be your best friend as soon as possible!
UPDATE FROM HIS FOSTER FAMILY:
"After almost a week having him we decided that he looked like a “Hank” instead so that’s is what we have been calling him. He settled in rather quickly! He’s a great dog. We took him to get a bath and he felt and looks so much better. He had a lot of under coat left even after the bath so we brush him often as he has a beautiful coat! Hank loves everyone he meets and wants to be around people, he is calm, he does great in a crate, no accidents in the house at all, does NOT jump up on you, likes to sleep in bed, and loves, loves, loves to lick. Kisses for everyone! He has been introduced to my dogs and does very well with both. He leaves my 3.5lbs one alone and loves playing with my golden. He does pull on the leash but only when he is really interested in something, and he is a chewer (he likes shoes!) so we just bought extra chew toys for him and I thought he might like his own bed but guess not - he shredded it in less than 12 hours of having it so he can choose the couch or the floor! All in all Hank is a wonderful dog and loves to snore while he is sleeping".
