All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Would you love the most adorable, cutest project ever ? Yep - that's me!!! Are you up for a cute cuddly mess of a pup ready to love and challenge you?  I'm your boy!  My foster will supply all the deets but please keep in mind ALL of me and not just the physical attributes.

First the vitals:  Georgie weighs 9lbs is about a year old and is up to date on all his shots. He could be a havayork (havanese/yorkie).

His early days are unclear but did result in being placed in a shelter.  He was then adopted and put up for sale immediately.  I am thinking he has had at least 4 homes in his short life making separation anxiety the result.  He can bark when you leave, when he leaves for a walk, and anytime between.  He is working on this behavior, but alert barking is being reinforced with a thank you and a treat whenever he chooses to leave the window.  His large personality rivals his sweet nature, and anytime you want to cuddle, he's your man.

Crating has been a challenge, so we are working on habituating him to this with lots of hide-and-seek treats he finds at random times, never shutting the door just yet.  He has been able to nap for 2 1/2 hours recently, a huge success from where we were a week ago.

Grooming is another skill set we are working on.  He is slowly coming around to the idea of being brushed but his face, eyes, and mouth are sensitive to grooming.  We are working very hard on this concept but at the moment he would have to be sedated for grooming.

Housebreaking has been a challenge with Georgie, and he has started using the bathroom inside on pee pads mostly.   If someone had a yard and the time to get him out frequently, I would suspect this behavior would resolve but not completely confident.  I would think litter box training could be an easy transition.

Georgie is not very toy motivated in my home, but it could be due to my pup who wants to control all of the "fun things."  He will engage with a toy, if you are engaged, but not for very long.  Getting him to learn the value of play would help with his barking and overall energy level.

If Georgie could have the perfect home, it would be one with a yard, a loving older couple or single person, and no other dogs. Much of his barking and anxiety involve my dog, as did in his last home. He loves people but children have not been tested, and his personality prefers the spotlight.  He will dote on you as much as you dote on him, making this a beautiful relationship with someone who has the time, energy, and outlet for him to be him.  He should be in the circus just like any Havanese. He’s an excellent watch dog, too. He loves to be held and loves his Thundershirt which I will use off and on to help calm.  It just so happens to help with the attention barking too.

Lastly, you will take one look at him and fall in love so having as much information on this sweet boy must be the first priority to ensure that his next home is his last.
