Noelle Grace needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

This little cutie pie had no idea what it's like to be loved. Or held. She lived outside in a small crate. She is one of 113 dogs seized from a puppy mill breeder and just now learning what being a dog is all about. She will require love, patience, time and training... along with good food and PATIENCE!!!

In addition, she will require a securely fenced yard as she has learned the joys of racing around one.  To see her fly around the yard, leap and jump, and generally frolic is a joy to behold and one Noelle Grace deserves in a forever home.

She is not 100 percent house trained yet though she improves daily.  She will let her foster know sometimes that she has to go outside by walking around in front of the back door.  Other times, she uses the hall carpet!  But if taken outside often enough, she has no accidents in the house.

She gets along fine with other dogs and cats and would do well to be around animals who live a normal life to continue her education in what it means to be a house dog.

Originally, nothing seemed to motivate Noelle but now she’s beginning to respond to food rewards.  Noelle won’t come to her foster’s hand.  In fact, she’s more than likely to dart the other way.  But slowly, Noelle is beginning to trust humans.  A hand outstretched with a treat in now gets attention and she often comes right to the fingers to take the treat.  But reaching for her sends her in another direction.

She is used to staying in a crate when her foster is out of the house and at night.  She goes into her crate willingly as long as a treat is tossed in.  She has never had an accident in her crate even if she’s been in it for hours.

She likes hard bones to chew on and to toss around.  She’ll get a bone in her mouth and then toss it in front of her, chase it, and then settle down for a good chew.

Noelle is spayed and up-to-date on her shots.  She’s ready for her loving forever home.  AN UPDATE FROM HER FOSTER: She is great in the house, with food (appetite really picked up) and with the other dogs. She has begun to "run with the Pack" if something outside is exciting and is accepting treats directly from me some of the time. she like to lay behind my chair and while won't come up for petting, likes it when I pick her up and doesn't run scared afterward. She is so sweet and gentle and reminds me a a cross between a rabbit and a sprite as she is a hopper and skipper. I'm working with weekly baths (that she doesn't seem to mind) and almost have her coat up to a fluffy BF white.  At this point, any adoptee would need eyes wide open about the bonding speed and would have to realize it will be a long time before we have a real lap dog. All in all, I think there is good progress and she is doing well.

PLEASE NOTE: Puppy mill rescues are not able to be placed in a home without dog experience (no first time dog owners); must not go to a home with young children (too much activity for the dog trying to "make it" in the outside world); and must go to a home where they will not be left for more than a four-hour stretch.

NEWEST UPDATE FROM HER FOSTER:

Gracie would only be ready for someone who is not expecting family pet ready and has the time to wait for that to happen . She is very slowly progressing, but the slightest thing sets her back. She absolutely is afraid of men and when my husband is in the house she retreats to the sunporch and will not come any further in. If he approaches the porch she is out the dog door and under the bushes. We had a setback as I was watching my new grandson. She is afraid of him and all his equiptment and it has taken the full 2 weeks he has been here for her to accept his presence without running way into the backyard. She has finally mastered the double flap dog door with both flaps. Going out to pee etc. was not a problem, but she was very fearful of the flaps themselves. It was a slow (2month) and many step process. She is totally housebroken with the use of the dog door. Her chosen spot is the sunroom and ventures into the living areas to eat at night and wander around when we are in bed. The sunporch is large and comfortable. I have had to keep her water out there as she will not come in the kitchen during the day. She gets along well with the other dogs and "defends the turf" with barking now. Still absolutely no aggression. She will come toward me but out of arms reach unless I box her in to pick her up. If she is on a leash, she put paws up to me and likes to be held, but will not ask for that and runs away from me if not leashed. The fact that she will not skitter away outside when I come to the sunporch is a huge step. She is waiting each morning for her morning treat to be delivered to her from a safe distance. I am slowly decreasing that distance.
