Barry needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Barry is a beautiful and funny little guy. He weighs in at 38 lbs. now after putting on some much needed weight. We could see his ribs when he arrived. He is a bundle of energy and such a sweet boy. Lots of love to give. He settles down nicely and has a very mellow side as well. He will be best suited in a home with a fence or a family that can walk him 2-3 times a day. He is fine with other dogs – mostly not interested but friendly and I imagine that he could learn how to have a canine friend. To date, he doesn’t do well with cats although if there is a cat that won’t run from him, it’s possible he wouldn’t chase. He is super sweet and has that Golden Retriever Velcro characteristic about him. He follows me from room to room and waits at the window for me to return. He really responds to lots of love and attention since I don’t think he ever got it before his new life started. He is very appreciative of his second lease on life.
We had a professional temperament assessment done on Barry. Here is what she said: Barry will find his perfect family with a single person or couple. Children make him nervous. He is fine with other dogs and might bond with another dog or two, but he is also good without a canine friend. He is eager to please, but doesn't know how. Training for this dog will be a big help.
