Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Long of body and even longer on love, Rocky is a happy guy, very friendly to other dogs, kids, people of all sizes and shapes. This great guy is outgoing and ready to learn anything you might want him to know. You might say he is even eager to learn, he's just never had anyone to care enough about him to teach him what they want. We can see him trotting along on the other end of your leash. He can see himself playing ball with you in the backyard. He LOVES to play ball. Rocky will be a great family dog, or a best friend for an individual. His big brown eyes will be the first thing you see every morning, and they will be saying in every way Rocky knows how, "I love you."

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS CAREGIVER: Rocky is so sweet and tries so hard to please.  He is doing well with his potty training, holding it through the night.  So far he does very well with the cat.  He is gentle and has good manners and just loves to be petted. Rides well in the car.  Does pull on the leash, but that is something a little patience and training will fix. He will make someone or a family a great companion.  Not a big barker and seems to just take everything in stride. He was such a gentleman at the vet’s office.  A little excited, not scared, at first then calmed down and spread out like a basset at my feet. Will make someone a phenomenal dog.

THE NEWEST NOTE: Rocky may have short legs, but...One of our volunteers used to take Rocky out 1 or 2 times a week and run about 1 mile with him....even with those short little legs...so he would make a great running partner!

AND FROM ANOTHER VOLUNTEER: Rocky is spectacular.  Loving and so much fun.  Active but not hyper.  Sleeps in a kennel at night.  Just a great boy who deserves a loving home.  Still has some puppy in him so loves to play with toys especially sqeaky ones.  He appears to be a basset-lab mix.  He is neutered, up to date on shots and Heart worm negative.
