Blackie needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Soft sweet Blackie knows that a lot of people want a dog who can chase a ball and go for long runs. He still likes to play, but he is even happier with a leisurely walk and lots of tail wagging. He likes to sleep a lot and has never been one to turn down a tasty treat. This mellow gentleman has clearly had a home at one point, as he knows "sit" and may know other commands as well. He is also house trained and has good house manners. Blackie promises not to be too much trouble - he's just hoping there's someone out there who could give him a little love and a chance to finally be part of a family. Petting his soft fur is reward enough in itself, but with that simple pat, Blackie will give you his whole heart. The gift of true love, now that's something to treasure.
FOSTER UPDATE: He will need to go someplace that doesn't have steps or maybe just one step. He is so lovable and happy and sweet with people. He loves everyone and is so friendly.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: Blackie is doing good! He's not always amused by all the playfulness of the other dogs , but he just barks at it! He likes the girls and likes Brianna walking him! He's ok with the other dogs. He gets along great with the cats! We even have one that likes to rub themselves all over the dogs! He's gotten along with all the adults he has met while here, but like our dog Miley, barks when someone is at the door. He's very laid back, but I know he enjoys being outside when he's out. He doesn’t like being crated, and goes out maybe 3 times a day.
