Best Charlie needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

UPDATE: Charlie has come completely out of his shell. He is jumping up and loving on everyone at the clinic and allowing them to love him. It is so awesome to see him trusting again. When he was being staged for the heartworm and xrayed, he didn't cry or fuss at all. He was a little nervous but no more than any other dog. I was with him and talking to him, had to leave the room during the xray but continued to talk to him and he was great. He received a treat before and after and I think he was as proud of himself as I was. I am hoping you can see how relaxed he has become in these pics. He is just a wonderful boy and I am so in love with him and he would be with me if my house wasn't so full. His new owners, whoever they maybe, are going to be so lucky.
Best Charlie is looking out at us, so patiently, hoping every day that someone will see his hopeful, loving eyes and make him their own. A sweet, kind, older dog, his owner has died and he is all alone in the world now. A good boy, he is healthy, still likes to go for walks, although he is a bit slower on those walks. He would like to watch the sunsets with you, and maybe even the squirrels in the yard. He will be happy to snuggle down next to you, yet he still enjoys playing out in the yard. A slower life pace for Best Charlie, but a contented one. Already house trained, and used to be a "best" boy, he would give all his heart to be your Best Charlie.
From his temp foster: . I absolutely love him!!!! He loves his cookies and is completely at ease in the kennel yard, still a little nervous in the clinic especially where the doctors and techs are. Bless his heart. I am sure once he moves he will have an adjustment period again but he is a real love and worth waiting for.
