All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Heidi was slated for Police dog training, but it just didn't fit her personality. Several weeks into the drug and bomb dog program it was decided that this was not going to be her career and she has been released for adoption to an individual or family. Smart and loyal, like any good purebred German shepherd, she will also do best as an  only dog. Her foster suggests that her outstanding intelligence and agility would make her very well suited to search and tracking, rescue, or agility training. We have discoverd that a few things can frighten her, like cameras, and it could be that someone has tried to shock train her with a remote and she is worried about how much that camera looks like a controller. She is still quite young, so she has many years of bonding for the right person, who will show her that life does not have to contain pain, and that it is so much fun to get treats instead for learning all her bright mind can do. This beautiful and healthy shepherd is waiting for just that right person to come along, clip on the leash, and take her to a home she can only dream about.

Special note from her foster: We would like her to go to a home without very young children or cats. Just to make sure she has a great start! Thanks.
