Login to Remember your Favorite Animals and Breeds!

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Sweet natured, loving, calm, yet still playful...these are all good descriptions of Rhea. A perfect temperament for a family dog...she actually WAS a family dog, always doing her best to be a good girl. Raised with children and other dogs, she is great with both. She was simply abandoned by her family for no good reason. We think Rhea deserves someone much better. She was always an inside dog, so is already house trained and has nice house manners. She will love to play out in your yard and go for walks with you, too. She is young enough to have many, many years ahead to walk beside you through life, and her happy, easy disposition could very possibly make her the best dog you have ever had.

A note from her foster:

Real family dog, very kind and sweet.
Med size 40-45 lbs, well built and well nourished, good muscle tone. Hair is short. Sheds seasonally. Likes baths.
Appetite, good. eats 1.5 cups twice a day, could be maybe reduced to 1. Housebroken, excellent on leash, knows simple commands. VERY gentle - no jumping up - obviously good with children. Also good with other dogs, plays well,  good with cats and rabbits.
Loves to cuddle and be held.
exercise requirements: fenced yard or ability to be walked frequently. Not good with long flights of stairs. Enjoys balls, frizbee, etc. Would do well in a home with middle school or elementary school children,  with other pets.
