All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Gunnar is the perfect example of a German Shepherd Dog! He is proud, aware, and very smart. He already knows sit, stay, heel, lay down, leave it, the all important COME, shakes both paws and gives lots of kisses. Shy he isn't! He loves children and if excited and jumps up he puts his legs at his sides and just licks-no paws. He likes cats and will play with them if they are ok with him (as our home has 12 rescue cats he gets his pick). He plays by "poking" not to hurt but may surprise you.  He walks well on a leash but would love to run around and catch and retrieve toys in a yard too.

He is a big boy at over 100 lbs but not fat, just sturdy and strong. You will be proud to walk down the street with this handsome devil at your side. Overall he is gentle but I have seen signs that he would be protective also. He doesn't bark unless he feels it is needed or if he is just having fun with the other dogs-then they all bark!

If you are serious about  having a large dog and can exercise him and don't mind him wanting to be in the room with you all the time please come visit him, he will be glad to meet you! ( but watch out for those kisses)
