Amigo needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Amigo is one of those dogs who simply loves life! Although he is a tripod (missing a leg), He doesn't even seem to notice he is not as "perfect" as other dogs. he runs happily, loves to play, and is very friendly to everyone in the world. A regular canine ambassador. His friendly, outgoing personality has earned him many friends in rescue, both human and canine, as well as feline. He has been beloved by everyone who has cared for him. Why is this tremendous dog still in rescue? Because so many people want the perfect dog. We can tell you that Amigo IS a perfect dog. Having three legs is no impediment to his amazing temperament. He is even housebroken! Hear what his caregiver has to say about him...

"He likes to play and can run fine.  If someone raises their voice, he rolls over on his belly submissively even if it isn't him being scolded.  He holds off going to the potty until someone comes to let him outside.  He listens when we call him." He lost his leg because someone shot him.  Amigo had a home in the country with two other dogs and cats.  He likes everyone.   Amigo had been sleeping with the cat, He is good as a good family dog.   You'll find that he is very easy to love!"

If you are ready to bring a dog with a sunny outlook into your life, come for Amigo. He will truly be your very best friend.
