Candycane needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

A friendly, happy, shy girl, little Candycane has a beautiful, naturally sweet temperament. Her fuzzy face always looks happy to see you and her tail will wag like mad with the prospect of a walk or playtime. Still quite young at only2 years old, she should have a long life ahead of her to be all yours. She will bounce along beside you on walks and will prance around in the backyard, so proud that this is HER place to play. She is a great size at only 18 lbs., so you will be able to take her anywhere easily. A good dog to have and one who will love you back with all of her heart.

NOTE: We will require a physical fence so she can play safely.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER FOSTER: Candycane/Maggie is a lovebug once she warms up and trusts you. She is completely house trained, has completed several positive reinforcement training programs, is completely crate trained and loves to walk on a leash.

Candycane/Maggie gets very excited and unsure around strangers and outside stimulus such as cars, motor cycles, and bicycles. She is very treat motivated and has learned a great deal to calm her down during stressful situations. She loves toys, all the toys, and she is a resource guarder with toys, bones, food and anything high value, therefore she would be best as an only dog or with an larger dog and someone that is able to manage her separation to enjoy her toys. Her favorite thing in the world is a frozen stuffed kong. Also for this reason we would like her to be adopted to a home without younger children. She is very loyal once she trusts and will make a wonderful addition to a home.
