Sweet, sweet Darla. She deserves so much more than life has given her up to this point. Her story will break your heart. It was a raw, cold day when the police kicked in the door where she was kept and saw her, "the dog that lived", surrounded by dead dogs and only two other dogs, barely hanging on. Severe neglect is not a strong enough charge for this case. For four months now she has been warm, safe, and given good food to let her become a healthy dog. But look at those eyes. She has suffered so much. Now , she is very grateful just for a gentle touch by someone. She does not even take her food bowl for granted. Her body is healed, but her heart is searching for someone who will love her. When she understands that you will care for her, and never leave her to die, this grateful little dog will give you her entire heart for all of her life. She is here, waiting for you. 
NOTE: Darla has a gentle, natural temperament and is good with other dogs. We have made sure she is totally vetted, has all her shots, and is a healthy dog, ready to go.
