All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

1. Sailor is almost completely blind. he can get around but  he still bumps his head if allowed to wander off leash, does better in house and will follow me everywhere. Not completely house trained this is complicated by lack of vision Most likely born blind and seems per Vet. to have some light/ shadow vision in one eye , totally blind in his left eye. HE does not go down steps, and needs to be carried outside to yard to play/ or potty. does come up steps into house now. He has no depth perception at all, when walking in neighborhood I constantly talk to him to keep him close to my left foot to avoid even small dips in pavement to keep him from falling. Maybe with a lot of coaching he might develop enough trust to go down steps. 

 2. Sailor does play one on one with soft toy  to date  no luck with running after anything, even in an open safe part of our yard. Playtime 10-15 min. 3 x day is about his max. 10 -15 min. walks is his current max. I sometimes carry him home. not sure if its fatigue./or somehow related to blindness

Sailor is more Shih Tzu  personality and has most of breed traits.. I don't think he would fare very well crated all day he really likes being with you all the time. He sleeps in his bed beside me,
