All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Gretchen and Toby are purebred wire haired dachshunds. They are bonded totally and have been together since the moment of their birth. They were also adandoned together at a boarding facility when their person felt she could no longer care for them. They are intelligent and inquisitive, and will play and play together. It is so much fun to watch them romp! They both enjoy being lap buddies and if you sit down on the couch they are sure to be there soon, one on each side, just in case you might be getting lonely! Or cold! At night, Gretchen prefers to sleep under your covers, while Toby prefers the top, but as close to you as he can get. They are both leash and crate trained. A single word sends them straight into their crate, where they will settle down together. Since they came originally from an older couple, we don't believe they have ever seen a child, so we are hoping for a home without young children. They are quite used to cats, as their foster has several. She says if the cats run, they will chase, but not with bad intent. They just want to play. Her cat will turn around and hiss, and, well, game over. Both doxies will give it up. They are great with all other dogs and are currently living with 6 other dogs of all sizes and shapes.  They love toys and will spend the day playing chase and wrestling with each other. They are housebroken, but really dislike getting their feet wet in the rain. The little girl weighs in at 17 lbs and the boy is 19 lbs. If you were looking to add some fun into your life. Gretchen and Toby will surely make that happen! You will smile every day with these two and their antics.
