Sandy needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

If you are looking for a social, friendly dog, you have just found Sandy. She loves everyone once she gets a chance to meet them. There is a lot of German shepherd in her, but she is a small one, so if you like that breed, but are not sure you could handle a full sized one, Sandy is once again the answer to your search. In the absolute prime of her life, she is so easy to have aruond. She never wants to cause any trouble, is a great size to take places, and then you have that legendary loyalty through her shepherd genes. You can see it in her eyes as she looks at you. An intelligent dog, with wonderful, thick, soft fur, she is a pleasure to pet. And she loves petting! Anything that you like, it will make Sandy happy. She just wants to hear the words "Good girl" and it makes her whole day. Pleasing humans is her favorite activity. When she gives her heart to you, you will find, perhaps, the best dog you have ever had.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER FOSTER: Sandy is super sweet! She’s shy and quiet at first but warms up quickly. Likes to snuggle and be close. I’m wondering if she’s younger than her age estimate. She certainly acts much younger! For example, she likes to wrestle with the towels in the bathroom. Or tries to steal socks. J She loves going on walks and does well on the leash. She has done great with my dogs as well as with dogs we’ve met on walks, ranging from the tiny Yorkie a few doors down to dogs much bigger than her. She loves to play. With other dogs certainly, but she’s also good at playing on her own. She likes big, soft toys that she can shake. She’ll toss them in the air and run around with them in the yard. She listens well and has been fine hanging out in the crate if I’ve needed to go out. I don’t think she’s had any kind of formal training but she picked up “sit” after just two tries. She has been wonderful company!
