All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Saint Sam is a sturdy, good sized boy, but he doesn't know it. He is sweet and shy hoping nobody is going to hurt him. He has shown himself good with other dogs and cats that he has met, but so far in his life, humans have been untrustworthy. We are out to change that world view and so far so good. He is such a beautiful dog. We will want a physical fence for him, so he can play safely in your yard without fear. Once you win his heart, you are going to have a lifetime friend.

Sam has been good with his foster's cat.  Although, he did get pretty excited over a groundhog on the other side of the fence, so no groundhogs.  :)
A NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: Sam is a 3 year old shy, calm, gentle, sweet, loyal boy who loves his people, dogs and does well with cats. He came not having the love, comfort and socialization of a family and warm home. He was kept outside, likely tied up. He is working through his leash fear and will need patience and slow introductions to new people and experiences. Because of this, he will need a physical fence. Sam is making remarkable progress and wants to please. He has discovered that living inside with a family makes him happy and comfortable. He is housebroken and has low exercise needs.  A home with older kids is preferred, since we don't know how Sam is with young children. He has lots of love and life to give.
