Ben needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Ben is a sweet dog who has not known a lot of love in his life. His heart is overflowing with the desire to have his own family to adore and cherish. He will give you not only his heart, but his soul, for only a pat on his head, some food in his bowl, and a soft place to lie down at the end of the day. Beyond even his dreams would be walks with you, playing in a real yard, and someone to return his devotion. He has an even, friendly temperament, likes other dogs and all kinds of people. He is an easy guy to love. Could you be out there for him? He will be grateful for his whole life long and just might become the best dog you have ever had.
A SPECIAL NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER, WHO KNOWS HIM BEST: Just to let you know, he goes to the door when he needs to go out, he only barks if someone knocks or rings the bell, does great on his leash, like to play with his toys, but mostly just quietly naps. He's also learning "no" very quickly when it comes to asking for food while I'm cooking and we're eating. He’s a nice boy, housebroken, fairly well trained and doesn’t chew. Easy going and okay with the kids. I am able to pet him, hand him food and take it away with no problem, haven’t tried yet with the kids but he seems to be a little more territorial with the dogs so they are being fed separate at least for now. He doesn’t hoard or scarf down food but wants to make sure what’s in the bowl is for him. All-in-all a very good dog.

Special Needs: Ben has a fear of men.. he's excellent with children, cats and other dogs.. but this fear is so engrained that he really needs a home more feminine and one that is more quiet and not a lot of visitors...He will do best kept in his own environment so public walks should be kept to a minimum.
