All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Eli is a shepherd looking for love. He is filled with that legendary German shepherd loyalty and nowhere to put it. So young, so beautiful, so smart, he wants to be the best dog he can be. A little shy and oh so sweet, he is longing for an individual or a family to call his own. He will love you with every beat of his heart for all of his life. Yes, he is that kind of dog. There is absolutely no aggression in him. Just eyes that plead "make me yours." You will be able to train this dog to do absolutely anything. He would never do that. He is ready to be the best dog you have ever had. Let him show you!

Eli is very much a puppy and needs to learn basic skills of not chewing on the leash, no mouthing.. but he is so increbibly sweet and loving.. he will bond quickly. He's little.. only about 30 lbs with this lovely wavy coat!

A SPECIAL NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER, WHO KNOWS HIM BEST: Eli's a good boy! Very, very happy and great around our 9-month old Standard Poodle pup and our 2 older Jack Russells. He plays hard, and has a lot of energy to share. He has never had an "accident" in our house, either. He LOVES people, and has never met a stranger he didn't like. Our neighbors adore him, and the feeling is mutual. He is anxious to please and is always, always thrilled to see his people!  He is learning that the toys are HIS, and he's learning to play with them and have a blast!! He is a curious boy, always sniffing out every inch whether inside or outside during potty breaks. He's a quick learner, and pretty much knows sit, come, and shake. Above all, he is a lover dog!! He's quick to sneak in a surprise sloppy kiss, and loves to be by my side. Overall, a great dog - fine with other dogs, is afraid of our 2 cats, and loves the neighbor kids. Who could ask for more??? He IS still a pup, so he's got a lot of energy, a lot of curiosity, and truly appreciates constant engagement so he can more quickly learn what it means to "be a dog"! Currently, his coat is beautiful shades of brown, red, black... with curls across his back. He truly is a 1-of-a-kind dog. Smaller features, beautiful facial features, and teeth that are whiter than a toothpaste model's!!! He smiles.

Foster update:

House training is fine... 1 little accident, and nothing else. We go out at least every 90 minutes, so he's a quick learner. He is TRULY a puppy in every sense of the word. He wiggles like a puppy, he is in wonder of everything, i.e., toys, treats, everything in the house, every sound, etc. He listens very well, knows sit, come, and we're working on "OFF!" because he LOVES to jump up on everyone, even if I'm sitting in a chair, he's in my lap in an instant, and he's a good sized dog! He plays very gently, shows no aggression for anything, can eat out of the same bowl as Clara. He is discovering that the cats will run from him, so he gives chase. He's GREAT on a leash, too. I am confident enough to say Eli has mastered:

Come

Sit

Shake

Favorite toy: ball
