Ellie Mae needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Ellie Mae is solid gold...a mix of two exceptionally family oriented dogs; she has surely gotten the best of both. Her coat is like spun gold in the sun, and soft to the touch. Petting her is heavenly. She dearly loves playing with other dogs, even small ones, and thinks kids are great. Her size is ideal; at only 40 pounds she is just right for any size child or situation. Her sweet temperament makes her want to please her people and this is easy for her, as she is such a good dog. The halo on this dog is that she is already house trained. She is ready to play in your yard, go for walks, and look into your eyes, batting those long lashes, saying in every way she knows how, "I love you". For this dog, all you have to add is a gentle "love you too, sweetie", right back, and she's yours with every beat of her heart.

Ellie Mae requires a fenced in yard, and it must be a physical fence.

NOTE: Ellie's previous family lost their home and sadly had to give her up. She has always been well loved. Here is what they have to say about her:

  • She loves kids and playing outside
  • She loves walks with her master
  • House trained
  • Great watchdog, very alert to people approaching the house
  • Gets along well with other dogs - but is best with smaller dogs, we also have a chihuahua and they play well together
  • She has a beautiful coat and loves to be brushed
  • No health issues, she has been a house dog for the entire time we've owned her.

A special note from Ellie Mae's foster:  Ellie Mae really misses her family; therefore, she would greatly benefit from a home where someone is there most of the time or has another dog to keep her company.  She is a real sweetheart, knows some basic commands, loves to take walks, and loves to play with my other dogs.
