All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Everyone dreams about having a great dog. With Dixie, there is no dreaming. She is ALREADY a great dog. She loves kids, enjoys the company of other dogs, likes cats, simply adores all humans of every size and shape. She has a happy, friendly, outgoing temperament, yet is a settled, sweet, calmer dog, too. Very playful and full of joy, she is ready to answer every one of those dreams you had about the best dog every. As icing on the canine cake, she has already had her basic training and is also house trained. What is missing? You! Take Dixie into your heart and home and you will wonder every day what you did without her. She would be a perfect companion for an existing dog at your house, or she would be fine as your one and only true love. Whatever the case, Dixie is the type of dog who will love you back with every beat of her heart. When you tell her "good dog", you are going to really mean it. Dogs don't come any better than this girl.  Dixie was a family pet and needs a new home now!

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER FOSTER:  She loves to nest in lots of blankets!... she wants so much to have attention... she's just as sweet as she can be... she does like to "track" when she is out for walks, but is just happy to be with her humans, so it's easy to get her attention to come back to you on a leash...  she'll be a great family dog!!!

A special note from DIXIE herself: "Hi! My name's Dixie! I love to be outside! I have to be on a leash or in a fenced in back yard because I love to track scents... and my foster mom is worried that I would wander away. I would do really, really great in a home that with people who like to hike and be active because I like to be active too! But don't worry, I know when it's time for a cuddle and quiet time. I like to be able to curl up with my people and hang out. I listen to commands really well and am completely house trained. I'm a very sweet girl that would love a forever family! Do you have room in your family for me?"

Please note that she will take a few days to settle into a new home... and if the foster already has dogs, she will need to have a seperate place until she feels safe enough to be with everyone... she is crate trained and house trained... she probably does not need to go a home with cats either as she has a strong "tracking" drive... she tracks things out in the back yard and on walks... she also knows SIT, STAY, and COME... she rides very well in cars with or without a crate...
