All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Sweet, smaller, and older, Little Lizzy is hoping for a place where she will get nice walks and get to watch the the world. She is an ideal companion dog for pleasant days, snuggles, and quieter times. Very good in the house and well house trained, she never wants to be a bother and will make sure she is trying to do what you want her to do . Really an easy dog to love. Pet her softly, and you will have her whole heart. This petite lady would be the ideal friend for an older person or couple who want a dog who will bring a happy, healthy, yet calm temperament into their lives. It does take Lizzy a while to get used to a new situation and she is frightened at being in a new place. She especially doesn't like walking along busy streets and much prefers quieter woods type walks.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER CAREGIVER: Lizzy has been fine with everyone that she has met…she runs loose in the shelter and meets all kids, people that come in as well as the manager’s grandkids that come in.  Her main goal is to be petted and to lay in her bed! She is a real couch potato in the house and would love most of all to sit next to you on that couch. She is very active on her walks-sniffing, looking for squirrls, etc. Sticks those ears straight up in the air.
