All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

|
Hello, my name is Pretty Pepper, which I think fits me perfectly! My eyes just catch your attention right away, and my hair is shiny and soft! I am a young dog, but I am a calm and laid back girl, when I am in my comfort zone. If I am out of my comfort zone, I am timid and shy, and I really am scared of strangers at times because strangers were not too kind to me in my early past. That is why I would very much appreciate a home without a ton of visitors. Really, do we need all those extra feet in our house anyway? I love to flop on my back and have you rub my belly. I'll be happy to curl up with you and cuddle if you would like! If you want to see something just darn cute, watch me with a toy...I will lay on my back, and hold it with my two paws and chew and play with it. How many other dogs are THAT talented?
As I said, new people are a bit frightening, so new introductions should be slow with me; some people just want to walk up and get in my space. I am still learning to trust since I am recovering from a bad past relationship! By chance, can you relate? I would like to have another dog to learn from, and to play with each day. We could be buddies! I will just need to meet them slowly, and the experts at this wonderful rescue as well as my awesome foster mom, can help you with that! Once I see how much fun humans can be, maybe I will just join in the fun one day! I am not going to lie to you. I do need a dog savvy home to work on some of my fears. I might be just like you, a work in progress, so I need some patience and gentleness!!
Please, if you think you can invest in me, I will repay you in every way I know how! Go to the webpage and fill out an adoption application, and we can start our new life together!
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER FOSTER: Pepper appears to do best with slow introductions to anything/anyone new. She has come SUCH a long way! She is not comfortable with young children, especially if they are running around. She would do best in a situation where she sees the same group of people instead of continually seeing new people as she does in the park near us. Pepper loves to chase squirrels in the yard and is also very excited by deer. She is now learning to play fetch. This beautiful girl is e xtremely smart, quite food-motivated and familiar with clicker training-as in learning to "shake' a paw, etc. She is athletic and should probably have a fence of good height because of her love of jumping, however, she has not tried to get over my fence to "wander".
When she is comfortable and relaxed with her surroundings, she is gorgeous- tail flagging and can kind of dance along the yard. Pepper does not want to be a "city" dog as she is usually fearful when faced with new people/ situations. Pepper is currently fostered in a suburban home with a much older female dog who unfortunately cannot keep up with Pepper physically. Pepper can be "dog- selective", but would like to find a home with a compatible dog who shares her 3 year old energy level . Pepper likes to jump and climb on things, play with bugs, dig, catch moles, splash in puddles, romp in SNOW! Please remember, s he should have a fence of good height especially if there are deer in her neighborhood.

Special Needs: This dear little girl is just afraid of the world and will only be placed in home with children over 15 yr old or adult homes.. she needs to have another dog and a patient, easy going, gentle owner who will give her the time necessary to adjust and trust.
