It's been a long and hard life for our sweet Emily. This loving dog has a wonderful disposition, always friendly, always wanting to please, but never valued by her owners for her loyalty and devotion, even when they beat her. Now nearly blind, they let her be attacked by a pitbull and then left her to die. And still, STILL, she remains loving and trusting. Gentle and friendly, she is hoping for a soft place to rest, food in her bowl, and the touch of a soft hand, letting her feel safe and know that she is now valued for herself and all her good qualities. If you have the heart to give this lady dog a home, she will be grateful all the rest of her life, however long or short that might be. And you will know that you have done something right...and made the world in one small spot, one precious soul, a better place. And Emily will know for the very first time, the touch of kindness.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER FOSTER MOM: This girl is so gentle and loving. She loves to simply lie down near me and will come over and lean her head against my leg, hoping for a free pet. Then she closes her eyes in ecstasy and "talks"...little low sounds, maybe tiny moans of pleasure. She is totally house trained. A quiet dog, her favorite place is in the house, preferably in a soft spot. She will go outside to "do her business", but then comes and stands right by the door to come back in. She will be perfect for an older person wanting an easy dog. It is impossible to tell you how soft her coat is. Reminds me most of pillow down. She asks for nothing and is so grateful for anything. She is only partially blind and seems to have no trouble navigating my house or yard. Dusk is a hard time for her to see, but the rest of the day she seems to be fine. She loves children and wags her tail happily when she sees them. Great with other dogs, too. She fit in with my own dogs in only a few hours, sleeping next to them, greeting anyone who comes to the door with a happy look and her own special Emily "woof".
