All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

What do you get when you mix a chocolate lab with an Irish setter? You get Herman!  He is brown  but has striking golden highlights with some dark red mixed in.  His hair is also thin like a setter rather than thick like a lab. People comment on his color all of the time! Herman was excellent around other dogs in the shelter and his first foster Mom reported that he is the friendliest dog she has ever fostered!  She had a small, very balanced pack and she said he just fit right in. After one-on-one introductions, he quickly began interacting with the entire group. All of her dogs were altered but she has two larger females, a larger male and a male older puppy, so a pretty representative sampling of any dog he may encounter. Herman absolutely loves to play with other dogs.  He will keep your dog busy and tired all of the time! He is also fine with cats. He doesn't really play with them but he doesn't chase or bother them either. He loves people of all ages and doesn't jump on children. Herman does not climb on furniture, and prefers to sleep on a cool floor. Herman will take any advantage of a good run so a fenced yard is necessary for his safety. This is because he loves hiking and going for long (2 mile) walks. Herman is so very playful; his age is a best estimate, but he definitely acts and plays like a much younger dog. Even at the latest vet visit, she said he presents like a younger dog!  Want a playmate for your dog? Well Herman is your man!
