All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Friendly, happy and sweet, Dakota was simly born to be a good dog, a family dog. She will trot along next to you on walks , a smile on her face to be there, right next to you. She is so happy to be around people that her tail will wag into a blur whenever she sees you or any of your friends. Not hyper, yet playful, she is a wonderful, easy dog to love, and one who will love you back with all her heart. She plays well with other dogs and will have a great time with you out in the backyard. Her wants are simple, her heart is boundless.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HER FOSTER: "She was in a foster home with cats, and was reportedly great with them.  The foster said she is the kind of dog you want to keep. She is as close to perfect as a dog can get. Not only is Dakota good with cats, she loves other dogs and adores children. I have a six-year-old granddaughter and a five-year-old grandson who would crawl all over her and she would sleep with them in the bed.   They called her the bed hog because she would have to cuddle right up beside that you sometimes under the covers with them.   She also enjoys taking car rides."

Note from current foster:   Dakota is a very sweet dog. She is housebroke and good with cats and dogs though she is somewhat intimidated by large dogs at first. She is very healthy and recovering quickly from her spay. She walks well on a leash with no pulling at all. She needs basic training as she has not been taught very much yet. She is fearful of men, we are working on that every day. We do not know what her puppy experience was. I have no doubt patience and love will fix this fear. She enjoys her food and loves to take walks.  She sleeps in her crate but would be happier close to you either in bed or next to it! She plays with stuffed toys and nice bones. She is 19 inches tall at the shoulder and about 35 pound, I think she will fill out around 40-45 pounds once mature. She likes giving kisses and gets very excited to see you in the morning or when you come in, she puts her paw out to shake and her tail is wagging like crazy! She is just waiting to meet her new family where she is loved and feels safe.
NOTE: As she is somewhat frightened of men, we would prefer her to go to a home with only females, if possible.
