Taya needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Taya is a happy, joyful, outgoing, playful pup. She was found wandering with her friend Starr, also on our site.  Here is what her caregiver has to say about her:
"Friendly and playful with people and have been fine with other dogs as well as each other. They are just total sweetness."
Taya is a best friend waiting to happen. She is all ready to learn what you want her to know in order to be your perfect dog. She so wants to be a good girl! She should have a long and happy lifetime with you, going for walks, playing in the backyard, curling up near you each evening after a great day together. She is a young girl and very playful.  She is curious about everything.   She has had a bad case of "happy tail".  Her poor tail was raw from wagging and hitting everything.   She was so happy to be safe at long last. She has seemed to quiet down some and her tail is starting to mend.  She was a perfect patient at the vet's and very much a lady.   The vet commented that it was one of the easiest stitch takeouts that he has done, she was perfect.   He said she is a very nice dog and would probably do extremely well in a house with children to play with. She is housebroken, does chew a little but think it is out of boredom, but nothing extraordinary.  She appears to know a few commands.   Taya also does fantastic riding in a car.   She was hesitant getting in but she was perfect during her trips. Taya is still young and will need some training, especially on leash.  Otherwise she is a very pretty happy girl.

An update from her foster:

Taya is adjusting well, learning to be a puppy again and takes great joy in all of the exciting new things in her world outside the kennel. She is a sweet dog, full of energy and play.  She is attentive to people, follows with her eyes and walks well on a lead. She has adapted already with our other dogs and is a part of the pack. The other adult dogs here are patient and helping her to learn and socialize and she seems very happy, toys scattered everywhere. She is smart, likes learning and loves giving and receiving affection with people and other dogs.

She is a year old by best estimates but has missed some milestones in her development.  She is learning or relearning to be house trained. We don't know if she has forgotten or never learned but she is doing very well for day Two here.  She was afraid of steps and now bounds up the two in the back like an old pro, leading in and out most of the time. She is a quick study and has remembered or learned how not to jump up with reminders. If she nibbles a hand or puts a paw up while sitting she is rewarded with attention and love; she is figuring out that there is plenty of love for her and she doesn't need to jump for it.  She sits on command, does paw, is learning stay (except when distracted as a puppy does) and comes with a whistle;

This morning she smelled the flowers and plants in the yard now that the rain has stopped. She wisely chose to look at the bumble bee rather than taste it. She loves the outdoors. She especially loves to look for the bunnies in the back who scatter under the fence when she races over.

She is fascinated with kitties and a cat household may not be a good placement for her. She has tried some creative ways to slither thru the cat gate to "visit" and hopefully that will wear off...
