Rocky Boy
"Rocky" is doing great. He just jumped right into the family like he's been with us for years. What a sweet sweet dog. So well behaved. Wonderful disposition. He's got a very soothing way about him, which I guess maybe is typical of labs. Calm and docile indoors yet playful and energetic outside. Loves going outside; loves being out there with us and playing chase or working on fetch, but also happy to run around by himself and explore. Happiest when he is close to us, though. A bit of a barker, especially if he hears another dog. We have introduced him to one friend's dog and they got along fine. Loves the kids. I can't get over how well behaved he is.

Update: We still haven't settled on a name, but he's an awesome dog and we love him and want to keep him. He's calm in the house, sleeps in our bed, looks after the kids, runs and plays outside, guards the house, alerts to any threat, loves being around us. Great dog.
Update: Since he looks like a coyote we have decided to call him Wiley
Remi
Remi loving his life with his new sister!
Hi Jennifer, he's perfect! I was so happy we both had yesterday off to bond with him. He had a blast running around the yard and chasing sticks. He's slept in bed with us the last two nights. No accidents or problems, except that he didn't want to walk on the hardwoods or stairs, but he's already getting better with both. We thought we could contain him with a gate in our addition off the kitchen (designated dog room), so that he didn't have to be in a crate, but he cannot be contained, lol, so I am going to get him a crate this afternoon. Otherwise, all is perfect. He likes his new toys from Petsmart and seems like a happy boy. Even gets along with the kitties. Thanks again for everything
Rallo
Through no fault of his own, Rallo found himself in a rural shelter, scared, alone, not knowing what would happen next. RORR recognized the potential in this sweet guy, and took him into rescue.
Rallo, now Ralphie, was adopted by a wonderful woman, and is now doing great! He is paying it forward by now working as a therapy dog.
Ralphie has spent the last few weeks working with the boys from the Fairfax County boys probation home and the kids from a Fairfax County court ordered program called Shelter Care. He has turned out to be an incredible therapy dog--very approachable and affectionate but not overwhelming.
Ralphie is quite the ambassadog!! Every one of the boys Ralphie worked with signed a pledge to never buy, breed or abuse a companion animal!
One of the boys had been attacked by a dog and was very afraid of dogs. At the end of 4 weeks together, he wrote the following poem:
Roses are red, violets are blue,
I love dogs, and so do you.
Sadly, 6 get killed each minute,
let's stop this insanity, it's reached it's limit
Instead of online, lets get a dog in the the shelter
that would make life a whole lot better
Dogs are just like me and you
they play, have emotions and love just like we do
Saving dogs for me is something new
it's something you should try out too
Let's make a pet's life even better
but we're going to have to team up and work together
and let's keep it that way forever and ever.
