Lady Ann
Our dear sweet old gal Lady Ann, went to the bridge today. Hopefully she will meet her original owner who passed away and left her and RORR will remember her fondly for the time we had with her. We wish you peace sweet Lady Ann.
Lady Eskie
Yesterday was a hard day as both RORR's foster of mine, Lady(Eski) and my former RORR foster who I had adopted both crossed the rainbow bridge. Sunday was the day when, for very different reasons, I knew it was time. I feel absolutely certain that Dorie (corgie) was asking me to help her go. She had lost her ability to walk and had no interest in food. She just stared at me with her big eyes, pleading. Lady's form of dementia had left her so agitated and unable to even find her water. She had a seizure like attack Sunday night. Dorie was somewhere in the teens but had a rough life before I got her. Lady was 16 plus. Dr. Harman, Sr. and the staff at Hillside were wonderful. He agreed with my decision and could only have treated a few symptoms on the very short term and not changed the outcome. They are both buried in these WV hills. My son, Andy, was my angel for that responsibility. My little Gracie is so lost today. I am loving up on her.
Lefty
I write this with a heavy heart this morning. Last night around 11:30 we lost Lefty (the smallest of Hope’s puppies) to a pulmonary embolism. It came without warning when she was snuggled in bed with us. Her heart began to rapidly beat and she had trouble breathing. We got her to the ER within 20 minutes and even after injections and CPR they could not save her. She fought for her life to be here and overcame parvo and now her life is gone just hours before her 1st birthday.
Lefty loved unconditionally and she was .
Lil Boo
The hardest part of rescue is knowing when to let go. Sadly Lil Boo was put down on thursday due to a multitude of issues. He needed a dental for broken and infected teeth, yeast infection all over his body, ears infected and the left one almost closed with scarring, blind due to never having his dry eye treated and an infection set up swelling the eyes, not neutered with a small tumor, both knees permantly out of the joint and painful and last but not least a grade 4 heart murmur and lyme positive. Instead of being 12 he was most likely over 15. He had one week of good food and love, which he was so grateful for.
Reach Out Rescue & Resources appreciates the love & care given to Lil Boo by his foster. He left this world knowing he was finally safe, had good food, was cared for, and most of all, loved.
