Molly
Sweet 'ol Molly came to us when her caretaker had to enter assisted living. When Molly was first brought into our foster program, we thought her age to be at least 13. She had vision problems, but nothing drastic. She was with her foster for a few months, when her health deterioriated rapidly. On Christmas Eve, 2012, Molly crossed to Rainbow Bridge. She was lucky enough to have had a loving home in her final months, with good food, clean water, a soft bed, and people who loved her. She left this world knowing she was loved. So many of Molly's shelter friends never get that chance. Please, in memory of Molly, adopt a shelter dog.

Poppyseed
I want all to know that a little puppymill dog named Poppyseed, a shih tzu came to me over three years ago from a family that loved him dearly. They could no longer afford to care for him and thought their only option was to put him down. I met him at my vets office and felt I had to try to help both. For three years he and I have fought the battle of chronic demodex mange and it won. He could no longer have the medication that is used to clear it up as it was killing him as well. He couldn't stop scratching and shaking and I knew the only kind thing to do was let this little man go but oh my how difficult that was. Poppyseed will be one of those fosters that I will always remember. He had a tail that wagged non-stop and a funny little grin he gave no matter how miserable he was. He never caused an issue with any dog or cat, always a little gentleman. I know he is now safe and free from this disease but the time was way to short. He is now with all the others playing at last and making friends. You are missed little man but be happy and safe with all your new friends. If Poppyseed could leave one lasting legacy it would be for no one to ever buy from a puppymill again. These poor dogs come with baggage that sometimes doesn't show up right away until after they steal your heart and then the pain is so bad when you can't fix the problem. So in Poppyseeds name let us hope puppymills will soon be a thing of the past.

Lady Ann
Our dear sweet old gal Lady Ann, went to the bridge today. Hopefully she will meet her original owner who passed away and left her and RORR will remember her fondly for the time we had with her. We wish you peace sweet Lady Ann.

Sandy
One very special senior found a wonderful home and lived the next three years being loved... she has gone "home" now and made room for her family to yet help another senior.. thank you Anita for all the love you gave our girl!!

Helen
Helen was a senior who found herself in a shelter in her final days. While there are misconceptions about those that work in shelters, it's a tough job and those that do it have our greatest respect. This is just one story of a special old lady "Helen", that spent her final days in a shelter. The old girl was loved and her life was valued, I wish that we could have found something for her sooner. I have to believe in "meant to be." I was glad to be with her when the vet euthanized her, it was very peaceful. She started vomiting on Sunday, took her to the vet on Monday, did xrays, lab work etc and started treament. Tuesday she was no better so she went back and has been there on IV's and IV meds since. She declined and was suffering, she wasn't responding at all to treatment. I just went to be with her to be put to sleep. She was a wondeful girl and I know her spirit will be with us. Thank you so much for all you did to try to find her someone to love in her last days. We loved her very much and I think she new that. Vicki
